Apache 2.0 is a permissive open-source licence comparable to MIT but with two notable additions: an explicit grant of patent rights from contributors to users, and explicit contributor-licence-agreement language. The patent grant in particular is what distinguishes Apache 2.0 from MIT for projects with patent-sensitive contributors.
